Who we are
Checkerist operates checkerist.com and is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us about privacy at contact@checkerist.com.
What we collect

Photos and reports
Reports contain photos and video of properties. Checkers are instructed not to photograph people, number plates or personal documents. If someone is captured by accident, we blur or remove them on request.
Who we share data with
- The checker assigned to your check (only what they need to carry it out)
- Our payment provider, to process and hold payments
- Our hosting, email and identity-verification providers, under contracts that protect your data
- Analytics and advertising providers, only if you consent
- Authorities, where the law requires it or to prevent fraud
We don't sell your data, and we don't share reports with hosts or booking platforms.
International transfers
Checkers work in many countries, and some of our providers process data outside the UK. Where data leaves the UK we use adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum to protect it.
How long we keep it
Account data while your account is open and for 6 years after for tax and legal claims. Reports for 24 months after delivery unless you delete them sooner. Checker ID verification data for as long as the checker is active plus 12 months.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or move your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Email contact@checkerist.com. We'll reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and reputable providers. No system is perfectly secure, so we'll tell you and the ICO about a breach where the law requires.
