Before you book in Spain
Ask for the property's tourist licence number (it should appear on the listing) and, for long stays, request a Nota Simple from the land registry to see who owns it.
A local checker can visit any villa, apartment or holiday let in Spain, confirm it exists, and show you what it's really like before you pay the balance.
