How Checkerist works

From the moment you send a listing to the moment you decide whether to book.

  1. Search your destination

Enter the country and city of the place you're booking and see the local checkers who cover it.

  2. Choose your checker

Compare profiles, specialties, languages and the price each checker sets. Message them with any questions.

  3. Book an inspection

Paste the listing and say what to check. The checker visits, photographs and films it, and checks the street around it.

  4. Approve, then they're paid

Your report arrives with photos, video and a verdict. Your payment is held until you approve it.

What happens during the visit

The checker follows a standard checklist for every property, then adds your own questions. They take photos from the same angles as the listing so you can compare them side by side.

If the host won't allow a visit, the checker still confirms the building exists, photographs the street and entrance, and tells you what they found. That is often enough to spot a fake.

How payment works

  1. Your checker confirms the price for your property. You pay when you accept it.
  2. Our payment provider holds the money. Neither we nor the checker can spend it yet.
  3. The report arrives in your dashboard and by email.
  4. You approve it, or tell us what's missing within 72 hours.
  5. Once approved, the checker is paid. If we can't deliver, you're refunded.

Questions people ask

How quickly will a checker visit?

Each checker shows their availability and agrees a delivery time with you before you book. Many can visit within 24 to 48 hours.

How much does it cost?

Each checker sets their own price, shown as a starting price on their profile. They confirm the final price for your property before you pay.

Do I need the exact address?

No. Many hosts only share it after booking. Send the listing and any location details you have. If the checker can't locate the property from the listing, that is itself a warning sign, and we'll tell you.

Will the host know?

It depends on the check. For interior photos the checker needs access, so we ask the host to arrange a short visit. A host who refuses a 15-minute visit before taking your money is useful information.

Can I talk to my checker?

Yes. Use the Message button on any checker's card or profile, before or after you book.
