Write a profile travellers trust (and Google can find)

Your profile is your shop window. Travellers find it when they search for a checker in your city, and every detail you add helps them choose you. Here is exactly what to write, field by field.

Five rules for every field

  1. Write it yourself, in plain words. Copied or AI-written text that sounds like everyone else's doesn't win bookings.
  2. Name real places: your town, neighbourhoods, beaches, stations, streets travellers will know.
  3. Be specific: years, numbers, what you actually check. "20 years in hotels" beats "very experienced".
  4. Only claim what you can prove. Don't write licensed, insured or certified unless you are and can show it.
  5. No phone numbers, emails, links or social handles. Travellers contact and pay you through Checkerist.

1Photo

A clear, recent photo of your face, in daylight, looking at the camera. No logos, sunglasses or group photos.

Why it matters: Travellers are letting a stranger visit a place for them. A real face is the first sign of trust.

2Headline (up to 70 characters)

Who you are plus where you check, in one line. Include your city.

Why it matters: Your headline appears on your card in every search and in your page title on Google.

Good

Former hotel manager checking holiday rentals in Málaga

Weak

Best checker, fast and cheap

3About you (300 to 1,200 characters)

Three short paragraphs: your background and years of experience; the areas you know and why; how you work and what travellers get from you. Write in first person.

Why it matters: This is the main text Google reads on your page. Pages with a real, detailed bio are the ones we let Google index.

Good

I've lived in Málaga for 14 years and spent 9 of them running reception at a 4-star hotel in Torremolinos. I know the Costa del Sol from Nerja to Marbella, including the new-build complexes that look nothing like their photos. When I check a property I photograph every room from the listing's angles, test the Wi-Fi and hot water, and walk the route to the beach so you know the real distance.

Weak

I am honest and reliable. Contact me for checks.

4Areas covered

List each town, district or area separately, the way travellers would type it. Add only places you can reach within a day.

Why it matters: Every area you add is a place travellers can find you. Your profile appears on those city pages.

Good

Málaga, Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Nerja

Weak

All Spain

5Services and prices

One line per service: what's included, how long it takes, your price. For example a standard check, a video walkthrough, a live video call, a neighbourhood walk.

Why it matters: Clear services turn visitors into bookings, and the service names help your page match what travellers search for.

Good

Standard check (about 1 hour on site): exterior, every room, photos from the listing's angles, short report. From $45.

Weak

Inspection. Price negotiable.

6Recent checks (up to 3, 280 characters each)

Short notes about real checks you've done. Say what you found and how it helped. Never include the address, the host's name or the traveller's name.

Why it matters: Fresh, specific examples show you're active and give your page unique content that is updated over time.

Good

Checked a 3-bed villa in Nerja for a family. The pool wasn't heated as listed and a building site had started next door. They renegotiated before paying the balance.

Weak

Did many checks, all good.

7Safety tips for travellers in your city (3 to 5)

Practical, local advice that only someone living there knows: the licence number to look for, common scams in your area, streets that are noisy at night, safe ways to pay.

Why it matters: Local tips are the most useful text on your page for travellers, and the most original for search engines. We may also show them on your city page.

Good

Holiday lets in Andalusia must show a registration number starting with VFT/MA. If the host can't give you one, ask why before you pay.

Weak

Be careful and stay safe.

8Languages

Only languages you can hold a conversation in. Add your level.

Why it matters: Travellers filter by language.

Good

English (fluent), Spanish (native)

After you publish

  • Reply to messages within a few hours. Fast replies get more bookings, and travellers see your response time.
  • Add a recent check every month or two. Pages that change stay fresh for travellers and for Google.
  • Share your profile link on your own social accounts and with past clients. Links from real people help your page get found.
  • Keep your prices and availability up to date, so travellers never book you for a date you can't do.

When does your page appear on Google?

Your public page is published as soon as you sign up, but we only ask Google to index it once it has a photo, a city and an About text of at least 120 characters. Until then it stays hidden from search results, so a half-finished profile never represents you.
